Welcome to the Brookvale High School
website. Brookvale High School and Groby
Community College together form the Brookvale Groby Learning
Campus. We are the respective headteachers on
our campus and we work together to provide the best possible
learning environment that we can for our students.
We run the campus from one senior team, and
most of our subject departments now work 11-19.
We have one governance structure across the two schools,
and most of our support services (such as IT and Finance) work
across both schools.
We are very proud to have been judged
Outstanding in 2014 (Brookvale) and Good with Outstanding
Features in 2016 (Groby Community College).
Our ambition is to be Outstanding overall 11-19.
We welcome young people from our partner
primary schools in Groby, Ratby, Kirby Muxloe and Newtown
Linford, and from other primary schools subject to availability
of places. For September 2017 we will have
240 spaces available in Year 7. All students
from Year 9 are guaranteed a place into Year 10. We also welcome
students from a range of other secondary schools into Year 12
where they can study A Levels and vocational Level 3 courses in
our large and thriving Post 16 centre.
Our Campus Vision is:
Valuing Everyone, Achieving Excellence
Our Campus Motto is: Work
Hard, Be Kind
We have a caring, disciplined, family
atmosphere. All our students are known and
treated as individuals. We have high
standards, and we place particular emphasis on school uniform
11-16, exemplary behaviour, attendance and punctuality.
Our most valuable resource is our staff; whether they
are teachers, support staff, lunchtime caterers and supervisors
or premises officers, they contribute to the students' welfare
and progress. We aim to give all staff appropriate and on-going
training for the work they do on campus to ensure that their
work is of the highest quality. We provide Initial Teacher
Training as the lead provider in our School Direct network. We
are also a strategic partner within two Teaching Schools, the
Thomas Estley Learning Alliance (TELA) and the Forest Way
Teaching School Alliance (FWTSA), both of which provide CPD and
school to school support across Leicestershire. We have a
learning culture and believe that everyone can gain new skills
and, if desired, qualifications to support them, at any stage in
We are extremely proud of our excellent
results which are consistently above national averages.
Gifted and talented students thrive here, with a good
proportion of students gaining the highest levels at GCSE and A
Level, and high rates staying on into the Post 16 Centre, and
then going to university.
As a campus of 1,600 students in total we
are able to provide an excellent range of courses at GCSE and A
Level, and we also provide a wealth of extra-curricular
