Teacher of Computing and/or Mathematics 11-19
Full time from September 2017

 

Required from September 2017, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, inspiring and well qualified teacher of Computing and/or Maths across the 11-19 age range. We are looking for a specialist in either Computing or Maths, and an ability to teach the other subject up to Year 9 would be an advantage.

The Brookvale Groby Learning Campus is a highly successful collaboration of two schools sharing the same site. Brookvale High School is an ‘outstanding’ 11-14 high school and Groby Community College is 14-19 upper school graded as ‘good with outstanding features’ in its last Ofsted. Together, the campus meets the educational needs of 1600 students with nearly 400 at Post 16.

The Brookvale Groby Learning Campus is undergoing an exciting period and formed a Multi Academy Trust on 1 April 2017. The school has a strong ethos of valuing everyone and achieving excellence for all including the professional development of our staff.
The successful candidate would be based either in the Language, Business and IT faculty or within Mathematics. Both Mathematics and Computing are taught across the age range from KS3 to GCSE and A Level.

ASSISTANT PREMISES OFFICER - Grade 5

 

We are looking for an Assistant Premises Officer to join our team. We welcome applicants who are hard-working and dedicated to providing a quality service. Ideally you will be qualified in a relevant trade profession with a plumbing, carpentry or electrical background.
You will be part of a team maintaining 2 buildings and the grounds of our campus. You will need some knowledge of Health & Safety, general maintenance skills and lots of enthusiasm.
You will be working 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, covering a 4 week shift pattern, including one late shift of 2.30pm – 10.30pm. There will also be the need for occasional weekend work. The pay grade for the position is grade 5, annual salary £15,807 rising to £16,942, however there may be some flexibility on pay for candidates with the appropriate professional qualifications.

We are looking for a successful science teacher who has the ability, drive and commitment to become a great leader as well.  You will be someone who is passionate about giving young people enhanced life chances through your teaching and leadership, and who is up for the challenge of making sure that our science provision and outcomes at Key Stage 3 are second to none.  This will mean that science learning at Key Stage 3 will be informed by students’ experiences at Key Stage 2, will be challenging, effective and enjoyable, and will be excellent preparation for enhancing outcomes at GCSE and beyond.

Required from September 2017, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, inspiring and well qualified teacher of Design Technology across the 11-19 age range.  We need Product Design 11-16, and either Art or Graphics or both 11-16.  In addition, there is also the potential for the right candidate to teach KS5.

Art and Design Technology forms a central place on our campus.  We have achieved Artsmark and our Graphics qualifications are some of the highest performing in the country.

If so, we could offer you the opportunity to join our Trustees or our Local Academy Board.  Volunteering as a governor is a great way to contribute to the local community and use your skills and experience to improve the lives of local children.

 

What is the commitment involved?

4/5 meetings per year, usually in the evening, plus visits to the campus during the school day 2 or 3 times per year.  There is an expectation that you would also attend training as required.

The role of school governor is a public duty, and you should be entitled to reasonable time off to perform it (this may be unpaid).  Check with your employer on your company’s policy.
